Gavroche

More old stuff.
This was from December 29, 2006.

This took weeks to finish xD I completely murdered at least one black pen attempting to do the text.
I was reading Les Misérables, Gavroche's death scene specifically, and I decided to draw a tribute-picture-thing, since he was my favourite character.
So, this is a dead Gavroche. I couldn't for the life of me draw males when I was 13 (I probably still can't xD), so it's a dead Gavroche covered by the black shawl that le Amis de l'ABC put over his body. That brown thing underneath him was a 13-year-old Emma copping out on drawing a table.
Behind him is the French flag, and the text from pages 509-511 of Les Misérables, in which we are first introduced to Gavroche. I got a lot of comments to the tune of "you're insane" when I told various friends that I'd crammed two pages of text into less than one A5 page.
(There is writing on the shawl. You just can't see it.)
"His gallant soul had fled" is, if I remember correctly, the last sentence in the chapter where Gavroche dies.
